The Southington Police Department has reported the following arrests.
John Miller, 50, of 57 Washington St., Bristol, was charged on Oct. 10 with DUI and operating a motor vehicle under suspension. Bond was set at $500 with an Oct. 21 court date.
Patricia Becker, 64, of 103 Ashwell Dr., was charged on Oct. 10 with two counts of second degree harassment. Bond was set at $1,000 with an Oct. 21 court date.
Sergio Martinez, 66, of 54 Wonx Spring Rd., was charged on Oct. 10 with second degree breach of peace. Bond was set at $1,000 with an Oct. 11 court date.
Matthew M. Marcuccio, 24, of 10 Oxbow Lane, Guilford, was charged on Oct. 10 with violation of conditions of discharge. Bond was set at $1,000 with an Oct. 21 court date.
Luz E. Arizmendt, 22, of 98 Highland Ave., Bridgeport, was charged on Oct. 8 with third degree burglary and fifth degree larceny. Bond was set at $3,000 with an Oct. 21 court date.
Deirdre Ragsdale, 31, of 224 Tanglewood Rd., Trumbull, was charged on Oct. 8 with third degree burglary and fifth degree larceny. Bond was set at $5,000 with an Oct. 21 court date.

•Roman A. Paszczuk, 58, of 333 Old Turnpike Rd., Plantsville, was arrested on Nov. 6 and charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive in proper lane.
•Anthony Angelone, 27, of 215 Old Turnpike Rd., Southington, was arrested on Nov. 7 and charged with second degree failure to appear. He was also charged in two other incidents of failure to appear second degree.
•Jeffrey B. Potter, 41, of 184 Marion Ave., Southington, was arrested on Nov. 7 and charged with violation of a restraining order and violation of a protective order.
•Derrick Javer Dargan, 32, of 5615 Old Leesburg Rd., Hopkins, S.C., was arrested on Nov. 8 and charged with failure to appear second degree.

•Nathan St. Martin, 22, of 75 Warren St., Cheshire, was arrested on Nov. 12 and charged with disorderly conduct, first degree criminal mischief and interfering with 911.
•Lukasz Kaziul, 31, of Southington, was arrested on Nov. 14 and charged with patronizing a prostitute.
•Paolo Mazzicato, 40, of Avon, was arrested on Nov. 14 and charged with patronizing a prosititute.
•Ronald Murphy, 56, of Farmington, was arrested on Nov. 14 and charged with patronizing a prosititute. He was also charged with interfering with an officer.

Three arrests made for Target burglary

The Southington Police Department (SPD) arrested three men in relation to an armed burglary at Target in Southington on Wednesday, Feb. 4. Akbar Aiken, Denzel Holmes, and Elijah Aiken were each arrested for third degree burglary, third degree conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, and second degree larceny.

According to an SPD press release, local police responded to a report of a burglary in process at Target, 600 Executive Blvd. in Southington, on Feb. 4 at approximately 12:38 a.m. It was reported that two perpetrators were inside Target , and both were observed via Target’s video surveillance system.

SPD officers arrived on scene and found a hole in the rear of the building where the suspects had fled south from the rear of the store.

Police set up a perimeter, and called in the K-9 Arno unit to follow a track that led south along the 8-Mile River. The release said that the suspects crossed the river and fled into the area of Beal Dr. and Beverly Dr. After two hours of tracking, officers located Elijah Aiken, 31, of Easton, Penn. and Denzel Holmes, 21, of Allentown, Penn. in a wooded area. AMR Ambulance was called to the scene since both suspects were exposed to extremely cold temperatures and dangerous elements.

During the investigation, officers located a suspicious vehicle in the area of Beal Dr. which was being operated by Akbar Aiken, 34 of Allentown, Penn. that was found in close proximity to both suspects.

The SPD was assisted by the both the Plainville Police Department and the Connecticut State Police in the investigation.

All three suspects were held in lieu of $250,000 bonds, and are scheduled to appear in the Bristol Court today. Elijah Aiken has outstanding extraditable felony arrest warrants in Texas and New Jersey.

The press release said that approximately 13 other Target stores along the East Coast, Florida, and Texas have been burglarized in the same manner. Police are actively investigating all incidents.

The Southington Police Department announced two arrests for car burglaries and shed burglaries in the Moore Hill Drive area.

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, New Britain residents Asim Kadric, 20, and Karol Nadolny, 20, turned themselves into police after learning of arrest warrants in relation to the burglary investigations.

The warrants stemmed from an ongoing investigation that was intiated on Aug. 2, 2015 when items from the burglaries were observed in a vehicle that was linked to Nadolny and Kadric. The vehicle was secured at the time, and a search and seizure warrant was executed on the vehicle. Victims of the burglaries identified items seized by the police.

Both men were booked and charged with third degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third degree burglary, sixth degree larceny, conspiracy to commit sixth degree larceny, second degree criminal trespassing, conspiracy to commit second degree criminal trespassing, second degree breach of peace, and conspiracy to commit second degree breach of peace.

Kadric was held on a $5,000 bond until his court date on Sept. 22. Nadolny was held on a $5,000 bond until his court date on Sept. 25.

The Southington Police Department announced two arrests as a result of a Special Investigations Unit investigation that began in April 2015. Tagen Legnani and Robert Dlugolenski were both arrested for the sale of drugs as a result of multiple warrants.

In April, police received information that Legnani was selling marijuana within the Town of Southington. Based on this information, three controlled purchases of marijuana were made from Legnani. As a result of this investigation, three arrest warrants were issued by the Bristol Superior Court charging him with sale of marijuana.

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, at approximately 8 p.m., Legnani was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He was processed and charged with three separate incidents of selling marijuana and was held on a $75,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Sept. 23.

At the same time in April, police received information that Dlugolenski, 27, of Southington, was selling marijuana and heroin within the Town of Southington. Based on this information, two controlled purchases of marijuana and two controlled purchase of narcotics were made from Dlugolenski. As a result of this investigation, four arrest warrants were issued.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, at approximately 8:50 a.m., Dlugolenski was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident. He was processed and charged with two counts of selling narcotics and two counts of selling marijuana. He was held lieu of a total of $400,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Bristol Superior Court on Oct. 1.

Warrants for all the arrests were sealed at the time of the arrest, and no further information will be released by police.

State Police announce holiday arrests over Thanksgiving weekend

MIDDLETOWN—The Connecticut State Police announced that they supplemented the normal patrol force with additional state troopers throughout the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The operation began at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 25 and concluded on Sunday at 11:59 p.m.

Troopers patrolled roads and highways across Connecticut, focusing on drunken driving violations and aggressive driving.

The state police announced 1,204 speeding arrests, and increase of almost 100 from the same period in 2014. Police also announced 432 seatbelt violations (314 in 2014) with 3,160 hazardous moving violations including unsafe lane changes, following too closely, cell phone usage, texting, and failure to signal (3,538 in 2014), 46 DUI arrests (52 in 2014), 513 accidents investigated with 59 injuries and one fatality. In 2014, the police investigated 934 accidents with 97 injuries and one fatality.

Just before 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, Southington Police Officers were dispatched to 102 Doe Meadow Ct. on a report of an underage party.

Upon arrival, officers heard music coming from inside the residence and from inside the garage. Police also detected a strong odor of marijuana, and they observed evidence of alcohol consumption. A check of the residence showed one beer keg, numerous cans of beer, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Based on the findings, police arrested seven people, including two juveniles for possession of alcohol by a minor and one juvenile for possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of the social hosting law.

Christopher Bouyea, 19, of Southington and David Craig Smelly, Jr., 19, of Southington were both charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

Domenic Stephen Rossi, 18, of Southington was arrested for possession of less than one half ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcohol by a minor.

Aaron Pratt, 24, of Terryville, was arrested for possession of less than one half ounce of marijuana.

Park View Drive burglars caught by police

Police arrested one man and two minors for breaking into vehicles and sheds in the area of Park View Drive after receiving reports from area residents. On Aug. 21, at approximately 5:25 a.m., police received reports of three suspicious males looking into vehicles, and the witness directed police to the area.

Police found Nolan Sorber, 18, of Southington and two juveniles hiding in the area.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the three individuals went through several vehicles and sheds in the area and stole numerous items from inside the different sheds and vehicles they entered.  Items ranged from sunglasses to small power tools and equipment. Sorber was also found to be in possession of alcohol and different pipes and items commonly used to smoke marijuana.

Sorber was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor, along with five counts of third degree burglary, five counts of third degree larceny, five counts of conspiracy to possess drug parphernalia, conspiracy to commit third degree criminal trespassing, and interfering with an officer. He was released on a $25,000 bond with a court date set for Aug. 29, 2016.

The two juveniles will also be charged for their participation in the crimes.
